Europe and the United States are scrambling for Chinese bags, which is a precursor to the recovery of the market

During the three years of the epidemic, countless enterprises fell down in the midst of the epidemic, and there are also countless enterprises struggling to support the epidemic. The strong rebound of China’s luggage exports can be seen as a precursor to the recovery of the industry

According to Li Wenfeng, vice president of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Light Industry and Handicrafts, orders from Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan and other major domestic luggage production areas have seen rapid growth since this year. Luggage is mainly a necessary tool for traveling, going out to work, and carrying luggage and articles in business. With the substantial increase of luggage orders, it shows that all industries around the world are recovering.

I believe that the “explosive list” of luggage export is just the beginning. At present, in addition to suitcases and bags, China’s high collar sweaters are also popular in Europe, as well as electric blankets, electric heaters, etc., and domestic orders will increase rapidly. The export of products of all industries will probably recover by the end of this year. The recovery of exports is a very good signal for China. Because China has always been a big exporter, that is to say, a large number of our products can be exported abroad.

This has “come to life” for foreign trade enterprises and factories that have been in dire straits since the epidemic, are on the verge of closure, and are hard supported. The demand of foreign markets will revitalize a large number of enterprises, and at the same time, millions of unemployed or unemployed people will have jobs. This is the fastest and most effective way to solve the problem of enterprise survival and workers’ employment.

At present, the export volume of luggage products has increased greatly, which also reflects some problems. During the epidemic, the supply of the entire industrial chain and the workers on the production line of the factory have shrunk. Therefore, when the foreign trade market for bags and suitcases has picked up strongly, it is now in the stage of “production capacity and supply chain are not matched”. On the one hand, it is difficult to recruit workers due to the great increase of labor demand, and on the other hand, the supply of parts and components in the supply chain is in short supply, which makes the phenomenon of “no one does anything with orders” prominent.

In order to prepare for the industry’s recovery, other industries should take this as a reference. Communicate with upstream and downstream enterprises in advance and make layout in advance, so as to seize the first wave of dividends when the industry recovers. We all hope that the epidemic will end soon and return to normal production and life. If the market has been depressed because of the epidemic, many people really can not support it.

As one of the three major luggage production bases in China, Zhejiang Pinghu mainly exports travel trolley cases, accounting for about one-third of the country’s luggage exports. Since this year, more than 400 local luggage manufacturers have generally been busy working overtime to catch up. Foreign trade orders have maintained an increase of more than 50%. In the first eight months of this year, the export volume of luggage has increased by 60.3% year-on-year, reaching 2.07 billion yuan, with a cumulative export of 250 million bags. The strong rebound in Pinghu’s luggage exports attracted a lot of reports from CCTV’s two sets of official media, including On schedule Finance and Economics, Economic Half an Hour, Financial and Economic Information Network, and China Business Channel One.

Compared with ordinary cases and bags, travel trolley cases are more affected by the epidemic, which makes the rebound with the recovery of overseas travel market more significant. Jin Chonggeng, the deputy general manager of Zhejiang Ginza Luggage Co., Ltd., said in an interview with First Finance that the company’s foreign trade orders have rebounded strongly this year. Now, there are about 5 to 8 containers shipped every day, while in 2020, there will be only one container per day. The total number of orders for the year is expected to grow by about 40% year on year. Zhang Zhongliang, chairman of Zhejiang Camacho Box and Bag Co., Ltd., also said that the company’s orders increased by more than 40% this year, and by the end of the year, they need to pay close attention to the orders placed by customers in August and September. Among them, 136 containers have been delivered to their largest customers in the first nine months of this year, an increase of about 50% over last year.

In addition to Zhejiang, Li Wenfeng, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Light Industry and Handicrafts, pointed out that orders from Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan and other major domestic luggage production areas have seen rapid growth this year.

The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in August this year, the export value of cases, bags and similar containers in China increased by 23.97% year on year. In the first eight months, China’s accumulated export volume of bags and similar containers was 1.972 million tons, up 30.6% year on year; The accumulative export amount was 22.78 billion US dollars, up 34.1% year on year. This also makes the relatively traditional luggage industry another case of foreign trade “order explosion”.
